MISAAL XI
For MISAAL XI Retro Edition, I was both Event Head and videographer, responsible for designing and featuring in the event trailer. The trailer carried a thriller-like mystery, where participants received cryptic cards leading them to a coordinated location, culminating in a grand reveal. With a controlled, suspenseful tone and layered narrative, the trailer elevated the event’s branding while showcasing its retro identity.

Project Objectives:
Direct and produce the official trailer for MISAAL XI Retro Edition as Event Head.
Design a mysterious, thriller-style narrative to reflect the grandeur of the event.
Combine my role as both a leader and creator by featuring in the video.
Project Scope:
Content Planning:
Built a storyline around cryptic cards leading participants to a coordinated meeting point.
Introduced an overarching “controller” figure revealed at the end to add intrigue.
Production:
Directed on-location shoots with multiple participants receiving and following clues.
Balanced my presence as Event Head with my responsibilities behind the camera.
Post-production:
Applied moody color grading and tense background music to enhance the thriller tone.
Used careful editing to weave together suspense, mystery, and the reveal of MISAAL XI.
Results:
The trailer gave MISAAL XI a cinematic identity that matched its scale as a flagship event. The mysterious narrative elevated the retro theme and created anticipation, while the trailer itself became a highlight of the event’s promotion.
Lessons Learned:
Combining leadership and creative roles requires careful time management.
A strong narrative makes trailers feel like short films rather than ads.
